GARR with IDEM Federation joins eduGAIN

eduGAIN is a service developed within the GÉANT project , to allow the exchange of information in a reliable way concerning authentication, authorization and identity between Federations participants of the GÉANT project http://www.edugain.org .

eduGAIN service enables participating Federations Inter-Federation to create a European infrastructure and establish trusted communications between entities, such as Identity and Service Providers of the various participating Federations. For end users nothing changes, they authenticate themselves at the Identity Provider and gain access to Service Provider. Currently there are 14 federations participating in eduGAIN.

This initiative increases the benefits for participants in the IDEM Federation bringing them beyond national borders and allowing federated authentication across Europe.
