The Italian national funds necessary to complete the Bologna Technopole have been officially authorised.
To keep in touch with colleagues, but also with family and friends, during this lockdown everyone is videoconferencing, often for many hours a day and jumping from a tool to another depending on whom they are talking to.
In order to address the emergency COVID-19, GARR is providing open and free videoconferencing services, suitable for organising webinars but also remote classes or work meetings.

GARR Conference “Sustainable/Digital. Data and technology for the future” will take place from 19 to 21 May 2021 in Palermo.
The EOSC-Pillar project, coordinated by GARR, will present the results of its national initiatives survey in a webinar to be held on Friday, 3rd of April 2020, at 13:00 CEST.
From Tuesday 10 March, GARR staff have been operating mainly remotely (smart working) following the evolution of the COVID-19 emergency.

This year Klaas Wierenga, the inventor of eduroam, has been honoured by being inducted into the internet hall of fame and now eduroam itself has been recognised by the WiFi industry and nominated as a finalist for “Product of the Year” at the annual WiFi Awards.
