The Internet Society celebrates 25 years!

On 19 September 2017, the University of Catania held a series of events to celebrate 25 years of the Internet Society and the Italian presence from its very beginning, which was made possible by the engagement of Stefano Trumpy and the former GARR director Enzo Valente.

For the occasion, several meetings and debates were organised in order to commemorate and treasure this experience and look forward to the future (#thenext25). These celebrations were part of a real marathon of events involving ISOC offices all over the word, simultaneously connected to the central event in Los Angeles, California. GARR attended the event, in particular with the presentations by Director Federico Ruggieri and Enzo Valente in the sessions "Italy and the origins of the Internet" and "Internet Today and Tomorrow: Law, Economics and Finance, Education and Research".
