Congratulations to Laura Ramaciotti, the new President of CRUI
GARR congratulates Laura Ramaciotti, Rector of the University of Ferrara, on her appointment as President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI).
The leadership of the association has been entrusted to a figure of great experience and vision, who was elected on 25 September by the CRUI Assembly. In her inaugural speech, Professor Ramaciotti emphasised the urgency of a cohesive CRUI, ready to address crucial issues such as the revision of the university funding model, the reform of Law 240, matters relating to the right to study, and the future of young researchers engaged in PNRR projects.
Full Professor of Applied Economics, Laura Ramaciotti has been Rector of the University of Ferrara for the term 2021–2027. She has served as Director of the Department of Economics and Management and has held numerous high-level national positions, distinguishing herself for her commitment to technology transfer, relations with the local area, and the enhancement of public research. Ramaciotti is the second woman Rector to lead CRUI and, during the previous presidency, she was a member of the Executive Board, with responsibility for Budget, Economics and Finance of Universities.
“I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to Professor Ramaciotti on behalf of the entire GARR community,” said Maurizio Tira, GARR President. “We are confident that our ongoing collaboration with CRUI, a founding member of GARR, in the fields of innovation, shared growth and scientific progress will continue with renewed momentum. Together, we are certain that we will face the important challenges ahead with enthusiasm and confidence, and achieve milestones of great significance for the future.”
