Call for Proposals for the TNC26 Conference Now Open
The call for proposals for presentations and side meetings at the TNC26 conference is now officially open. There is time until 27 November 2025 to submit a contribution through the official TNC26 website.
Digital Sisu
TNC is the flagship event for the research networking community centred around GÉANT, Europe’s super network. Every year it brings together hundreds of specialists in advanced networking and ICT services: from National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) to universities, from research centres to industry, from Europe and across the world.
The theme chosen for TNC26, to be held in Helsinki, is Digital Sisu, an untranslatable Finnish word that conveys inner strength, tenacity, determination, and courage, especially when facing adversity. In a world undergoing constant transformation, this concept is particularly meaningful: as a community, we need to embrace “digital sisu” to tackle complex challenges, make difficult decisions, ensure the sustainability of our activities, and preserve the solid ecosystem we have built. A true approach to life, which also guides our research networking community.
Host and Venue
TNC26 will be hosted by CSC – IT Center for Science, the organisation operating FUNET, Finland’s research and education network.
The conference will take place from 8 to 12 June 2026 at the Helsinki Music Hall, one of Finland’s leading music venues.
One TNC, Many Ways to Contribute
- Presentations
Presentations offer the opportunity to share innovative ideas, research results, or projects shaping the future of research and education networking. - Lightning Talks
Short talks (max. around 5 minutes) designed to highlight an idea, a project, a lesson learned, or a call for collaboration. The Lightning Talk call will open on 4 February 2026 and the deadline for submission is 10 March 2026. - Side Meetings
Open and accessible to all participants, side meetings are half-day sessions designed to facilitate in-depth discussions on shared topics. These collaborative spaces, typically featuring multiple speakers, allow the community to explore specific themes together. Each side meeting can host up to 100 people.
