Join us: two vacancies open to join the GARR network

GARR is opening two new job opportunities in Rome to strengthen its technical teams: applications are now open for NOC Specialists and DevOps and IT Automation Engineers, both on permanent contracts.

Two different but complementary career paths, offering the opportunity to contribute to the development and operation of the national research network, working on advanced digital infrastructures and services.

NOC Specialist: the operational core of the network

This call is aimed at 4 candidates with networking experience who will join the Network Operations Centre (NOC), the team responsible for monitoring and day-to-day operation of the GARR network.

Main activities include:

  • infrastructure monitoring and alarm management
  • incident management and service restoration
  • configuration and updating of network devices
  • technical support for users and coordination with suppliers
  • security interventions and activation of new services

Key requirements:

  • degree in ICT or a related field
  • at least 2 years’ experience
  • basic knowledge of IP networks and protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc.)

What GARR offers:

  • shift-based work
  • gross annual salary between €29,484 and €36,855 + allowances

DevOps and IT Automation Engineer: innovation and development

This call is open to 5 undergraduate or recent graduates interested in working on cloud, automation and software development.

Successful candidates will join DevOps or IT teams and will be involved in:

  • management and automation of IT infrastructure
  • development and deployment of cloud-native services
  • design of container- and microservices-based architectures
  • internal support and continuous service improvement
  • experimentation with new technologies

Key requirements:

  • enrolment in a degree programme (with at least 80% of credits completed) or a degree in ICT, physics or mathematics
  • excellent knowledge of Italian and good command of English

What GARR offers:
