From fostering digital literacy to advanced technical training to scholarships for young innovators: GARR in-class and distant learning activities are dedicated to the research and education community.

GARR offers courses on topics linked to the management and use of the network, as well as of advanced services and applications delivered on top of it: from network management to cybersecurity, from monitoring to digital identity, from Open Educational Resources (OER) to advanced services. Training activities are designed to support the dissemination of technical knowledge and to exchange information and best practices on research and development of new technologies and services.

In addition, GARR promotes initiatives to disseminate and enhance digital skills and digital literacy, to pave the way towards a conscious use of the Internet and the e-Infrastructures.

GARR training offer is open to all users in the Research and Education community and includes:

  • Seminars and in-class courses;
  • Webinars and self-paced e-learning courses.

GARR annually awards Scholarships to young graduates that are specialising on themes related to e-Infrastructures.

L’evento “Innovating Colosseo. Cultura e ricerca a banda ultralarga” è stato l’occasione per inaugurare l’attivazione del collegamento in fibra ottica del Colosseo, del Foro Romano e Palatino e delle sedi del Museo Nazionale Romano (Crypta Balbi, Palazzo Altemps, Palazzo Massimo, Terme di Diocleziano) alla rete GARR, l’infrastruttura che fornisce connettività a banda ultralarga al mondo della ricerca e dell’istruzione.

GARR e Soprintendenza Speciale per il Colosseo, il Museo Nazionale Romano e l’Area archeologica di Roma hanno voluto celebrare questo storico momento per mettere in luce lo straordinario patrimonio culturale nazionale e, allo stesso tempo, il potenziale di innovazione del nostro Paese in questo settore a beneficio non solo degli addetti ai lavori ma anche di tutti i cittadini.

Nel corso della serata, è stata messa in scena una performance dal vivo, ideata e realizzata appositamente per l’evento dal regista di fama internazionale Giorgio Barberio Corsetti, che ha sfruttato la rete per far interagire in tempo reale e ad altissima definizione interpreti, che seppur dislocati in luoghi geograficamente lontani, sono tutti interconnessi attraverso la rete della ricerca.
