From fostering digital literacy to advanced technical training to scholarships for young innovators: GARR in-class and distant learning activities are dedicated to the research and education community.

GARR offers courses on topics linked to the management and use of the network, as well as of advanced services and applications delivered on top of it: from network management to cybersecurity, from monitoring to digital identity, from Open Educational Resources (OER) to advanced services. Training activities are designed to support the dissemination of technical knowledge and to exchange information and best practices on research and development of new technologies and services.

In addition, GARR promotes initiatives to disseminate and enhance digital skills and digital literacy, to pave the way towards a conscious use of the Internet and the e-Infrastructures.

GARR training offer is open to all users in the Research and Education community and includes:

  • Seminars and in-class courses;
  • Webinars and self-paced e-learning courses.

GARR annually awards Scholarships to young graduates that are specialising on themes related to e-Infrastructures.

Gestire, organizzare e rendere sicure le reti LAN: è questo il tema del nuovo corso di formazione organizzato da GARR e che si terrà il 15 marzo, dalle ore 10.30 alle 16, a Roma presso la Sede centrale del CNR, P.le Aldo Moro.

Il corso, dal titolo “Come creare piccole LAN”, è orientato a chi ha esigenze di organizzare, gestire e tenere in sicurezza piccole reti cablate e wireless. Verranno illustrati, anche con dimostrazioni pratiche, gli aspetti principali da tenere sotto controllo e alcune soluzioni hardware, software e di progettazione utili allo scopo.

Infine, in una sessione collaborativa, verranno condivise necessità e soluzioni adottate dai partecipanti al corso mettendo possibilmente in luce punti di forza e di debolezza.

Il docente del corso è Daniele Albrizio (Università degli Studi di Trieste) esperto di web, reti e sistemi Linux.

Programma didattico:

  • - Introduzione ai concetti base: sicurezza informatica in generale, VLAN, IP subnetting, routing, firewalling L3 e L2, accountability
  • - Presentazione dell’infrastruttura allestita
  • - Analisi e prima configurazione di uno switch managed
  • - Configurazione di una VLAN e del relativo trunking
  • - Configurazione di un trunk 802.1q su un sistema Linux (Debian) come router 802.1q e firewall
  • - Analisi delle soluzioni di firewalling
  • - Presentazione di alcuni strumenti accessori di sicurezza e gestione
  • - Tecniche per il tracciamento e la storicizzazione del traffico
