Further information on planned activities on LearningGARR.
From fostering digital literacy to advanced technical training to scholarships for young innovators: GARR in-class and distant learning activities are dedicated to the research and education community.
GARR offers courses on topics linked to the management and use of the network, as well as of advanced services and applications delivered on top of it: from network management to cybersecurity, from monitoring to digital identity, from Open Educational Resources (OER) to advanced services. Training activities are designed to support the dissemination of technical knowledge and to exchange information and best practices on research and development of new technologies and services.
In addition, GARR promotes initiatives to disseminate and enhance digital skills and digital literacy, to pave the way towards a conscious use of the Internet and the e-Infrastructures.
GARR training offer is open to all users in the Research and Education community and includes:
- Seminars and in-class courses;
- Webinars and self-paced e-learning courses.
GARR annually awards Scholarships to young graduates that are specialising on themes related to e-Infrastructures.

Introduzione SDN (livello base): ore 9.00 - 13.00 - 100 posti
Il corso, di natura teorica, affronterà le seguenti tematiche:
- Architettura delle Software Defined Network
- OpenFlow
- Gestione della topologia della rete
- Scalabilità e Affidabilità
Laboratorio SDN (livello avanzato): ore 14.00 - 18.00 - 30 posti
Il percorso laboratoriale presenterà, attraverso esercitazioni pratiche, le seguenti aree tematiche:
- Introduzione al sistema di simulazione Katarà
- Configurazione minimale di uno switch SDN
- Installazione manuale di semplici regole su uno switch SDN
- Struttura di un controller Ryu
- Esecuzione di un controller Ryu
Docente
Roberto Di Lallo (GARR)
E' DevOps nel gruppo di Calcolo e Storage Distribuito del Consortium GARR. La sua attività principale all’interno del gruppo consiste nello sviluppo, nella messa in produzione e nella gestione della piattaforma di Cloud Computing offerta dal GARR. Ha discusso la tesi di dottorato in informatica ed automazione intitolata “Internet eXchange Points: Current Challenges and New Opportunities” nell’Aprile del 2018. Durante il dottorato i principali temi di ricerca trattati sono stati gli Internet eXchange Point e le Software Defined Network.
