From fostering digital literacy to advanced technical training to scholarships for young innovators: GARR in-class and distant learning activities are dedicated to the research and education community.

GARR offers courses on topics linked to the management and use of the network, as well as of advanced services and applications delivered on top of it: from network management to cybersecurity, from monitoring to digital identity, from Open Educational Resources (OER) to advanced services. Training activities are designed to support the dissemination of technical knowledge and to exchange information and best practices on research and development of new technologies and services.

In addition, GARR promotes initiatives to disseminate and enhance digital skills and digital literacy, to pave the way towards a conscious use of the Internet and the e-Infrastructures.

GARR training offer is open to all users in the Research and Education community and includes:

  • Seminars and in-class courses;
  • Webinars and self-paced e-learning courses.

GARR annually awards Scholarships to young graduates that are specialising on themes related to e-Infrastructures.

TNC è la più grande e prestigiosa conferenza europea sulla rete di ricerca e istruzione. TNC19, la 35ª edizione della conferenza, sarà ospitata da EENet di HITSA, la rete dell'educazione e ricerca estone, e si terrà a Tallinn, la capitale dell'Estonia. Il tema della conferenza di quest'anno, Forging Digital Societies, si ispira a due concetti principali: l'idea che le reti informatiche, sostenendo le interazioni umane, contribuiscano a creare e forgiare società digitali, ed il modello innovativo del programma di residenza elettronica dell'Estonia (Estonia e-residency programme).

TNC19 si svolgerà nello storico ed interessante Kultuurikatel, noto come l'hub creativo di Tallinn, situato a pochi passi dal centro storico. Dal 1913 al 1979 questo edificio, ora completamente rinnovato, ospitava la centrale elettrica di Tallinn City. Il Creative Hub prende il nome dall'ex locale caldaia (Kultuurikatel in estone). Completato nel 1934, questa parte dell'edificio con pareti in pietra calcarea è ora utilizzata da persone creative e attente all'arte. Il primo incontro serio con l'arte della ex centrale elettrica avvenne nel 1977, quando Andrei Tarkovsky utilizzò il complesso come set per il suo film cult "Stalker".
