GARR takes part in the thirteenth edition of Maker Faire with an interactive exhibition stand: a miniature Internet network that allows visitors to explore hands-on how a VPN (Virtual Private Network) works — a key tool for protecting data traffic, browsing safely on public networks, hiding one’s IP address, and safeguarding online privacy.
The activity is designed to explain in simple terms how VPNs work, to showcase eduVPN — the international service for students, lecturers, and researchers, managed in Italy by GARR — and to raise awareness of GARR’s role as a strategic infrastructure for research and education.
