Pubblicato il 01 December 2022

Registrations for the GÉANT Innovation Program will open on 5 December, a great opportunity to fund project ideas in the research and education community.

The past two editions (in 2021 and 2022) of the programme awarded funds to a total of 20 winning projects in Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and United Kingdom.

Each institution connected to the GARR network can propose research projects with a request for funding up to 30k euros and a duration of 5/6 months, with a possible extension up to 9 months. The projects can focus on any theme that falls within the activities of the research network community, for example in the areas of multimedia, networks, trust&identity, education, clouds, security, and privacy

The deadline for submitting project proposals is Monday 30 January.

The program has a total budget of 300k euros to support research projects proposed by universities, research institutions and other educational, scientific and cultural institutions that are part of the GÉANT community through their national research and education network. It is precisely from this program that innovative projects such as eduroam and eduMEET were born.

During the last edition, the GÉANT Innovation Program funded, among others, 3 projects from Italian organisations: University of L'Aquila, University of Rome Tor Vergata and Polytechnic University of Turin.
