Tips from experts for the european month of cybersecurity
October is the European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM), a European initiative to raise awareness of cyber risks and measures to fix them.
The main objective of the initiative is to create awareness and invite to take action so that people know how to protect themselves online, above because human error is often the main reason of security breaches. The campaign was promoted, among others, by ENISA, and by the European Commission.
GARR participates in the "A Community of Cyber Heroes" campaign launched across Europe by GÉANT for the month of security, by gathering some tips and insights from the security experts of the Italian research community, with the aim of keeping on raising awareness on the security concept.
In this month stories dedicated to the connection between privacy and cybersecurity, the dangers of public Wi-Fi networks, the dangers of QRishing and the main "hot" security topics will be published on the campaign website and relaunched on GARR News.
Furthermore, webinars dedicated to IT security will be available both on the learning GARR portal and on the GÉANT portal.
