The Maker Faire Rome - The European Edition is the European event that facilitates and tells the story of innovation in a simple and accessible way, connecting businesses, academia, people, and ideas. This event serves as a meeting point for industry experts, makers, and innovators who share their projects with the general public.

GARR participated in the event with a dedicated stand, where experts created a minimal network using hardware actually employed in the GARR infrastructure. This demonstration allowed participants to explore the various layers of connectivity and discover the mechanisms that make the GARR network so resilient.

To actively engage the audience, the activity “Network Invaders” was devised: spectators could interact by performing actions such as simulating the breaking of a link. The aim was to make the visitor experience more exciting and engaging, offering them the opportunity to practically and interactively explore the complex world of networks and technological innovation.
