BELLA: EllaLink cable gets go-ahead
GÉANT and RedCLARA, on behalf of the BELLA (Building the Europe Link to Latin America) Consortium, are announced the signature of the contract for the construction of the EllaLink submarine fibre optic cable system that will provide direct connectivity between Europe and Latin America.
GARR scholarship holders introduce their research
15 young researchers, including the 10 winners of the 2018 call for the "Orio Carlini" scholarships, and those who had their scholarship prolonged for a research activity started with the previous call, will present their projects on next 6 December, at the seventh "scholarship day", to be held at GARR headquarters in Rome.
INFN CNAF: first Italian site connected at 200 Gbps
With the connection speed of 200 Gigabits per second, CNAF, the national computing center of INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), is the first site in Italy to have such a high speed connection to the global geographical network, thanks to the close collaboration with the GARR research network.
Hack the Cloud, the cloud coding challenge is coming to Milan!
On November 27-28 2018 in Milan the first edition of Hack the Cloud will take place: a hackathon created in collaboration with the University of Milano-Bicocca and GARR. The aim is to join the code race with a training opportunity provided by GARR.
