FRESH IDEAS for ACADEMIC, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH NETWORKS
The ASPIRE Project
TERENA the Association of European Education and Research Networks is undertaking a foresight study aimed at identifying how education and research networking should develop in the next 5-10 years. TERENA has arranged a workshop on 23-24 May to undertake preliminary information gathering on which topics should be studied in depth. We aim to have around 100 participants at the workshop, mostly drawn from National Research and Education Network (NREN) staff.
We will invite up to six students to contribute their fresh innovative ideas to the workshop.
DO YOU HAVE SOME IDEAS ON THE FOLLOWING?
What new Tools, Services or Applications should be available and integrated into the education and research networks portfolios? How will this help you and/or how does its absence hamper your study and or research? You may suggest technological; hardware; software; services; organizational; social or another solutions of your choice. Your suggestions need to potentially provide better or more effective learning / teaching / research possibilities.
SUBMITTING YOUR IDEAS
You are invited to submit a short position paper of approximately one half of an A4 page (no more than 300 words). The best six position papers will be selected and the authors invited to participate in the ASPIRE workshop 23-24 May in Berlin where you will be given a 5 minute presentation slot. We are soliciting ideas from final year undergraduates and post graduate students. Your submission should be accompanied with a message of recommendation from your professor/tutor.
*The DEADLINE for SUBMISSION IS: 17:00 CET on Friday 29-APRIL-2011*
WHAT WE WILL PROVIDE
The ASPIRE project will cover the cost of your airfare to Berlin, your basic room costs at the venue hotel for one night plus your meals during your stay. In addition you will be participating in an event and interacting with leading experts from the NREN community which in itself should broaden your horizons.
